New York City Makes It Right

I love the morning view of New York Harbor... Lady Liberty – standing tall
I was born and raised in New York City... Good times and bad, we’ve seen it all
I love the rumbling sound of... “EL” trains... the morning dew in Central Park
The people live and they work their jobs... A melting pot eight million strong
A modern Ark eight million strong

Gonna see my share of this big wide world…  And all the wonders near and far
When I come home from a hard day & night.. It’s New York City that makes it right It’s NYC that makes it right

I love strolling down on Broadway... With all the neon and the shows
The city lives and it breathes at night... It’s a work of beauty when it snows
City streets are the arteries ... People walking by the heart and soul
The cabbies get you where you need to be
The skyline glittering like gold... Skyscrapers glittering like gold

We’ve got our share of the trouble in this world... Got our share of the rain
And when the days turn into endless night
It’s New York City that makes it right... It’s NYC that makes it right

Blood, sweat and tears are the city’s folks... Our local Heroes are the best
We pulled together thru the toughest times... New York has truly passed the test
And like the lion and the tin man ... We found our courage and our heart
We stand together and we stand for truth
NYC has won our hearts... New York City has won our hearts

We’ve got our share of the trouble in this world... Got our share of the rain
And when the days turn into endless night
It’s New York City that makes it right
It’s NYC that makes it right... It’s New York... New York City

Two Soldiers in the Rain

You spent your last Silver Dollar... Life’s bumpy road has left you broke
But you can give me a holler... I’ll come a’runnin’, that’s no joke
Your stocks have all gone bust... your wells have all run dry
Your lover left you standing there... at the station -- high and dry...
No explanation -- no goodbye...

You can count on me my friend.... mi amigo... my everlasting  pal
I’ll be your safety net.... if you free-fall... thru the darkness of the night
I'll be your guardian.... all night long... forever by your side
I'll be there thru joy or pain... Like two soldiers in the rain

You smoked your last cigarette.... You should be quittin' anyhow...
And your landlord sent ya packin’... Now you need shelter from the storm
Your world is topsy turvy... your walls have tumbled down
So-called friends have lost your number... And they don't return your calls...
No... they don't return your calls...

You can count on me my friend.... mi amigo... my everlasting pal...
I'll be your safety net.... if you free-fall... thru the darkness of the night
I'll be your guardian.... all night long... forever by your side
I'll be there to make things right... I'm forever by your side....

Like two soldiers in the rain... we will share the joy and pain
Just two amigos in the rain...

You can count on me my friend... mi amigo... mi companero eternidad
Seré tu neto de seguridad… cuando te caigas... en la oscuridad de la noche
Seré tu guardian... por la noche entera. . .siempre a tu lado...
En alegria o en dolor.... Dos Soldados en la lluvia… In the Rain!…the Rain!

Like two soldiers in the rain... Standing guard on the midnight watch

Just good buddies in the sun... I'll be there to share your joy

I’ll come a’runnin’, when ya call…

I’ll come a’runnin’, that’s no joke...

I’ll come a’runnin’, my old friend

Like Two Soldiers in the Rain... Rain... Rain… Rain...

THE WALKIN’ MAN

I seen him walkin’ the streets of my town… since I was a young boy

Never knew if he had a home… always seemed on the roam

Old fatigues and Army boots… he served his country in ‘Nam

A humble backpack carried his things… ragged jacket kept him warm

Folks just called him Johnny… this man who lived on the street

Could have been Johnny Rebel… or Johnny Appleseed… This man who lived on the street

Cause he’s a Walkin’ Man, Walkin’ Man, Walkin’ Man in this world

Yeah, he’s a Walkin’ Man… Walkin’ Man on this earth

Heat of summer or the dark of night… cold of winter or the mornin’ light

He’d wave and smile if you called out his name… then he’d be on his way

Then you wouldn’t see him… oh for years at a time

I heard he went to New Orleans… for a change in the clime

But once again you’d see him…. He’d be back on his beat

Walkin’ the roads of America… this man who lived on the street… This man who lived on the street

Cause he’s a Walkin’ Man, Walkin’ Man, Walkin’ Man in this world

Yeah, he’s a Walkin’ Man… Walkin’ Man on this earth

Keep on walkin’, Johnny… you seen your share of the solitary road

Keep on walkin’, Johnny… you’re almost home

Folks just called him Johnny… this man who lived on the street

Could have been Johnny Rebel… or Johnny Appleseed…

Heat of summer or the dark of night… cold of winter or the mornin’ light

Walkin’ the roads of America… this man who walked for his life… This man who walked for his life

Cause he’s a Walkin’ Man, Walkin’ Man, Walkin’ Man in this world

Yeah, he’s a Walkin’ Man… Walkin’ Man on this earth

Cause he’s a Walkin’ Man, Walkin’ Man, Walkin’ Man in this world

Yeah, he’s a Walkin’ Man… Walkin’ Man on this earth

FREEDOM

Freedom is a state of mind… it fills your heart and clears your sight

Oh Freedom, sweet Freedom

Take a look at the world, and what’dya see… People every nation just ask to be free

The world won’t take the Devil’s oppression no more…  The People decry the bludgeon of war

Insensitive staccato surging of guns, they’re taking our fathers, daughters and sons

Worldwide Freedom, let’s act on Freedom

Let’s talk about freedom and peace, and love not war… I’m talkin’ ‘bout Freedom

Let’s talk about freedom and peace, and love not war… we’re talkin’ ‘bout Freedom

Freedom will answer the human equation… Let it roll across the seas to all the nations

Let Freedom ring out for all generations… Let it be, let it flow, let it roll, let it grow… to be Free

Now here is America, we’ve got Freedom to be… any damn thing that we strive to be

Freedom to work at what we want to work… Freedom to live where we want to live

It’s all called Freedom… Human Freedom

Our Freedom is a way of life, you love your children, you love your wife

That’s Freedom… that’s truly Freedom

We’re the home of the Brave, the Land of the Free…

Where folks of all colors can be proud of their creed

It’s all called Freedom, People Freedom

We’re talkin’ ‘bout freedom and peace, and love not war… I’m talkin’ ‘bout Freedom

Let’s talk about freedom and peace, and love not war… I’m talkin’ ‘bout Freedom

Let’s talk about freedom and peace, and love not war… I’m talkin’ ‘bout Freedom

  Freedom… Freedom… Freedom… Freedom…

ALL IT TAKES

All it takes is one… to be alone

Being by yourself… staring at your phone

It can leave you… lost and broken

You might feel life is… just a token

Loneliness is something we’ve all known… Away from home

Two is all it takes… to be in love

Two people together sharing love

In a world that’s overcrowded

In a life that’s often shrouded

Two people can build a world that’s free… And it will be

The world is not a place that we can desecrate no more

We’ve got to change the world or the world will be no more

It’s time for all to be free… It’s time for all to be free…

It’s time for all to be free…

All it takes is you… and all it takes is me

To make the kind of life… we’re dreaming of

Give someone your heart… and you have made a start

Towards euphoric peace of mind and love… And love… And love

So Long, Yesterday

I remember Yesterday, but now today is here, and soon will come tomorrow…

But still… I remember… I remember

Yesterday, I was right on top of the world

Darlin’, you were my girl

But now you’re gone… So long, Yesterday

Yesterday, I really felt like a king

Darlin’, you were my queen

But came the dawn… And you are gone, like Yesterday

Yesterday, I was young… And love had just begun

But now I’m growing old

And the nights are much too cold… Without you

Yesterday, I was right on top of the world

Darlin’, you were my girl

But now you’re gone… So long, Yesterday

Now you’re gone… So long, Yesterday
